ATCP General Admission Requirements

General Admission Bachelor Degree:听Hold a bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education听 Provide an official transcript showing the conferred date of degree with an overall听GPA听of听听2.5, including a minimum of 12 credit hours in the content area you wish to teach and 15 credit hours for secondary math and Science or a passing score on the PACT (Pre-Admission Content Test)听 Pre-admission Test: TX PACT Foreign Degrees:听All foreign degrees must include a course-by-course evaluation,听听and meet the听English Language Proficiency requirements, transcripts听from a non-U.S. institution must demonstrate English language proficiency skills by submitting an official TOEFL-iBT score report demonstrating scores of at least 24 for speaking, 22 for listening, 22 for reading, and 21 for writing.听 See exceptions听 TEA ID:听听SEE TEA Login Contingency Admission Contingency admission is a conditional admission to an educator preparation program in Texas when an applicant meets all admission requirements except for graduation.听Applicants who are admitted on a contingent basis can begin program training and take certification exams, but they cannot be recommended for a probationary or intern certificate until they graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher. applicants must: Be in their final semester of coursework for their bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution Include a letter of completion from their academic advisor or registrar’s office Submit official transcripts up through the previous semester听 Once an applicant has transitioned to full-program admission, they will receive a Statement of Eligibility, which allows them to be hired as a teacher.
